The Freedom Walkway will be a quarter mile walking track around the perimeter of the Veteran’s Park that will be both educational and recreational. 12 free standing monoliths that highlight 12 major conflicts in American history from the American Revolution to the current day War on Terror will be adjacent to the track. Each monolith will have historical images, an informative description of that conflict and listing the total number of casualties – truly illustrating that “Freedom is not free”.  These monoliths will be arranged along a timeline to accurately illustrate the history of the United States’ involvement in military conflicts at home and around the world ensuring our nation’s Freedom. This walkway will be an American History classroom outside of the classroom.
